University Canada West Accreditation and Recognition
It is important for our international students and friends to understand that education in Canada is a provincial matter entrenched in the Constitution. Authority to operate is a provincial mandate, and quality assurance is maintained at the provincial level. There is not one Canadian body that officially represents national accreditation or quality-assurance, although it is often misunderstood that such a role is served by the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC).
University Canada West operates under the authority of the British Columbia Minister of Advanced Education, on recommendation of the BC Degree Quality Assessment Board (DQAB). See:
