John Schucht
John Schucht is a seasoned executive with many years of senior management experience in the financial and real estate industries, and significant corporate and private board tenure prior to and since his retirement at the end of 1997. Mr. Schucht was the Vice President of Property Development for Canada Trust from 1978 to 1979 and operated the company’s property and development subsidiary, Truscan Realty Limited as President and Director from 1980 to 1990. He also held positions in CT Financial of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer from 1994 to 1997, followed by Vice Chairman and Director until the sale of Canada Trust to TD Bank in 2000. In 2002 he joined the board of Robarts Research Institute and served as Vice Chair. He has also served as Chair for London Health Sciences Centre campaign, successfully raising in excess of $150 million.
He currently sits on numerous boards including Ellis Don Inc., serving as Chairman since 1999 and Chair of the Human Resources and Compensation Committee and a member of the Audit Committee and Corporate Governance Committee; a Director of AGF management ltd; and a Director of AGF Trust Company. Mr. Schucht is also a primary shareholder and officer of numerous investment and holding companies with interests ranging from existing real estate and development properties to merchant capital entities.
