John S. Walton, B.Eng.
Mr. Walton is one of Canada’s business leaders. He is Founding Chairman
(1989) of Endeavor Financial Corp., Vancouver, a private international investment
banking service to the mining industry. He has served as a Director of the Canadian
Imperial Bank of Commerce, Toronto, MacMillan Bloedel Ltd., Vancouver, as well
as other corporate boards in Canada, USA, UK and Australia. He has served as
CEO and Director of Placer-Dome Inc., having led the amalgamation of the Dome
and Placer mining groups. In the non-profit sector, he is Founding President
of the Victoria Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation, a Director of the Royal
BC Museum, and has served as Chair of the Victoria Commonwealth Games Society
for the very successful 1994 Games, Chair of LINC-Uc’s Committee for the
Arts, Media and Technology Centre, and an Advisor to Royal Roads University.
