The Two
Year MBA For Non-Business Graduates
Overview:
This MBA is for university graduates who have a non-business degree.
It combines short, two-week Residencies at the beginning of each of
the two years with online coursework and a major Consulting Project.
Admission Requirements
While we do not normally use the Graduate Management Admissions Test
(GMAT) as an admission decision tool for those possessing an undergraduate
degree, you will be asked to complete an application process that
includes some assessment in order to assist us in supporting your
submission, and to act as a compass in determining the best concentration
alternatives for you. International applicants may have to complete
the GMAT.
We expect applicants to this program to have an undergraduate degree
and progressive work experience managing projects or people.
Program Description
This Program consists of two two-week Residencies, five courses delivered
online, each year, and a Consulting Assignment that is weighted at
two courses.
Residencies
The two-week Residency at the beginning of the year consists of three
courses including skills-oriented sessions in teamwork, leadership
and job analysis.
We’ll send you study materials about a month before the Residency
begins, so you can be prepared to participate. When you arrive we’ll
provide an orientation to our Internet system, and build some teams
that will not only work together on-site but on-line as well. And
you’ll meet the University Canada West support team whose goal
is to assure your success
Residencies are held at various venues, chosen for their appeal,
and taught by respected, senior faculty with extensive real-world
experience in business and management.
Internet Course Work
Internet courses are delivered at eight-week intervals after your
residency each year. Each course lasts seven weeks, and there is a
week-long break between each course.
Consulting Assignment
Your Consulting Assignment begins after you complete your Internet
course work during your second year, and lasts for the duration of
the year. This is an individual consulting project that can relate
to the organization you are working with, or another organization,
such as a not-for-profit agency. It will integrate and consolidate
all your learning in a practical application.
There are four concentrations to choose from depending on class size:
Strategic Leadership, E-Commerce, Digital Universe, or Global Enterprise.
