The Campus,
Full-Time, One Year MBA
Overview:
Our full-time MBA program is designed to enable you to complete an
MBA in 12 months of study at the University Canada West Campus. For
this program you need not have work experience.
Admission Requirements
While we do not normally use the Graduate Management Admissions Test
(GMAT) as an admission decision tool for those possessing an undergraduate
degree, you will be asked to complete an application process that
includes some assessment in order to assist us in supporting your
submission, and to act as a compass in determining the best concentration
alternatives for you. International applicants may have to complete
the GMAT.
Applicants are usually expected to possess an undergraduate degree,
but work experience is not required for this degree.
Program Description
This program begins with a two-week residency, with courses delivered
on-campus at UCW. You will complete either a Research Assignment or
a Consulting Assignment that is weighted at two courses.
Residency
The two-week Residency at the beginning of the year consists of three
courses including skills-oriented sessions in teamwork, leadership
and job analysis.
We’ll send you study materials about a month before the Residency
begins, so you can be prepared to participate. When you arrive we’ll
provide an orientation to our Internet system, and build some teams
that will not only work together on-site but on-line as well. And
you’ll meet the University Canada West support team whose goal
is to assure your success
Residencies are held at various venues, chosen for their appeal,
and taught by respected, senior faculty with extensive real-world
experience in business and management.
Classes
Your courses are delivered on-campus, at eight-week intervals. Courses
last seven weeks, and there is a week-long break between them. You
will take either two or three courses at a time.
Research or Consulting Assignment
Your Research or Consulting Assignment begins after you complete your
Consulting Practice course. It focuses on a real-world, organizational
issue. The goal is two-fold: first to become aware of organizational
processes and operation, and second, to hone skills regarding primary
research. The assignment is due the end of the program year.
Depending on class size there may be four concentrations to choose
from: Strategic Leadership, E-Commerce, Digital Universe, or Global
Enterprise.
