Strategic Leadership
This stream provides an emphasis on internal and external elements
that affect organizational change, including: political, economic,
societal, and technological factors, and on understanding the organic
control mechanisms that enable and empower leaders to achieve an
organizational vision.
Digital Universe
We examine the three “digital solitudes”: hardware,
software, and management subcultures, each of which is driven by
technological imperatives. We study models that link knowledge management
with information systems, in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
New directions and their impact on organizational life will be discussed.
E-Commerce
We look at the growing presence of e-commerce in the consumer and
business-to-business arenas, with an overview of e-government. Building
on a simple definition of “conducting Business through transaction
by electronic means”, the very ephemeral and fluid nature
of this approach means that a combination of core principles will
be enhanced with timely inputs that reflect the dynamically changing
environment that is the context of this subject matter.
Global Enterprise
This stream provides a platform to understand the growing influence
of international trade, both in terms of economic and social capital.
Included in the discussion will be factors such as trade flows,
real and nominal exchange rate movements, foreign direct investments
and technological influences. We will review the disequilibria that
affect business and government decision-making.
